Horrabridge Rangers Sports Association is pleased to
say that the Horrabridge Recreation Field Trust, who manage Fillace Park are
looking at ways to improve the changing and hospitality facilities that are in
the park.
The
youth teams overall have been performing very well since the start of the
season. As with all great clubs sometimes results do not go their way. As this
happens at all levels of football we must accept this.
A
point to consider is that as a club we have reasonably small squads compared to
some of the larger Plymouth organisations, so with this in mind if you are
going away at all during the football season can your manager have at least 28
days notice. This is the minimum time required to cancel a normal league game,
which is not affected by the weather. If you are going away more of the team
might also be going away leaving the manager short and unable to field a team.
This
will result in a 3 point deduction for that team.
A
Parents Evening that was held in Horrabridge Village Hall at 7pm on Wednesday
23rd October by the junior section of the association had some very
good feed back. I hope that points covered were of relevance to the people who
attended.
Points
covered were: Child Protection, Insurance, Coaching, First Aid, Fundraising
& Sponsorship, Kit & Equipment and Charter Standard.
I
understand that many people have small children or one of the parents may have
been working, but a bit of thought for your team manager, who has also turned
down work to be at the meeting, would have made a big difference. I believe a
lot of people have no interest in how the Football Section looks after their child.
Parents are a big factor in this club and we need your participation as well as
your child’s. Do not let other people do all the work become involved.
We
do not want to become a drop off or crèche type club. We are a young and growing
youth organisation who needs a lot of helpers, in many forms such as; helpers
on match days, to put up posts, collect subs, wash kit, collect and move children
to & from games. You can always do more

The Charter Standard is a really important word in the Youth Football world. It says to people that you are a well organised, well run & well thought of in the area.
Only one club in our area has achieved the standards set by the Football Association.
To come in line for this we will have to draw up new codes of conduct for coaches, players, team officials, parents & spectators as well as a new Child Protection Policy. To help with all of this the team managers are attending various courses such as: Level One Coaching, Level Two Coaching, First Aid, Child Protection, Motivation and Mental Toughness, Sports Nutrition and Training, Sports Injuries and Treatment of Sports Injuries.
You’re Coach or Manager does
not just turn up on Saturday pick a team, play the game and walk away.
We are all working towards
the same goal look at our motto and help
